Does anyone have a good recipe for a wedding cake?
I am a little new at this. Although I have been baking cakes for quite sometime I am about to make my first “wedding cake” The bride would like a cake with a light chocolatey taste. I need a recipe that is a heavy enough cake that it can be frosted easily and stand up to the wooden dowles that I need to insert between the layers.
This cake makes a 2 layer standard cake you can double the ingredients Moist Chocolate cake ~ 1 3/4 cup sugar ,1/2 cup cocoa 1/2 tsp salt 2/3 cup oil, 1 egg 1 1/2 tsp vanilla 1 cup buttermilk 1 cup hot coffee 3 tsp baking soda 2 cup flour~ mix baking soda in hot coffee then mix in all ingredients You can also bake a white cake then fill and decorate with chocolate butter cream frosting ..it would be stunning here is a very special , delicious White Almond Sour cream Wedding Cake recipe ~2 boxes white cake mix ,Betty Crocker or Pillsbury, 2 cups flour 2 cups sugar 11/2 tsp salt 2 2/3 cup water 1/4 cup oil 2 tsp real vanilla 2 tsp almond extract 2 cups sour cream 8 large egg whites ~Stir together all dry ingredients add remining ingredients beat 2 minutes pour into greased & floured pans bake preheated oven 325 degrees till cakes spring back makes 1 14 inch round and one 6″ robnd or one 12″round and one 10″round or half this recipe will make two 8 inch rounds can also make this with chocolate cake mix for chocolate cakes
